Anthony Munda will be back available for Swindon Town this weekend as they take on Milton Keynes Dons in the FA Cup.

Swindon will have a big boost in the middle of the park this week, as Munda is back fit and ready to feature at Stadium MK after missing the last two matches against Bristol Rovers and Rotherham United.

Munda did not have any serious damage after his knee hyperextended against Barnet, which was positive news as it meant that his absence would not be significant.

Swindon have been waiting for him to be able to straighten his leg, before he can return to training and be back in contention.

His absence, along with Ollie Clarke suffering a hamstring tear, has seen Town’s midfield options slightly limited, especially with James Ball needed at the back.

Tom Nichols and Matty Virtue have managed to find form alongside the impressive Jack Thomson since Munda has been out.

But Munda will be eligible for selection again, although he is likely to be managed through the two cup matches, just to make sure that he is fully ready.

The only player missing from last weekend is Joseph Hungbo, who went down with a hamstring injury in training on Tuesday, and is headed for a scan.

The positive news on Thursday was that Ryan Tafazolli was back running on the grass during training, although he is still two weeks away from being ready to play.

Tafazolli was a key cog in the Swindon defence last season, but the issue was that he suffered from injuries a lot, missing 60 per cent of the season, and that often left Town struggling in his absence,

Despite these issues, Tafazolli signed a new contract over the summer due to his key role as a leader in the squad; however, the injuries have stuck with him, as the former Wycombe Wanderers defender has dealt with calf problems throughout pre-season, meaning that he only got on the pitch twice during pre-season.

Tafazolli managed 274 minutes of football at the beginning of the season before suffering a broken toe against Port Vale, meaning that he has been out for the last two months.

Normally, that injury would only keep a player out for six weeks, but the issue was initially believed to be a bone bruise after a scan, only for the defender to return to training and still feel pain, which saw him go for a second opinion, which then revealed the break.
