Youth rugby: In a competition of 20 teams Devizes U10s played and won all seven matches, scoring 22 tries and conceding none.
The U10s started well during a lightning storm beating Heathfield B 20 - 0, this was closely followed by Old Elthamians also 20 - 0 Devizes then faced a stronger team in Dorking A where a stiffer contest ensued, Devizes still securing the win 10 - 0.
The final group game was vs. Bechammians where Devizes were rampant running in 5 tries to leave the score at 25 - 0, this left Devizes clear group winners.
Devizes then moved onto the quarter final vs. Heathfield A the winners of their group and undefeated until this point, again Devizes ran out winners 10 - 0.
A sterner test was then faced vs. Bracknell (last year's winners) in the Semi Final, this was a fierce contest with no quarter asked or given, the Devizes tackling lead by Sam New and Hamish Janes was immense and the commitment of the team was epitomised when Bracknell drove a maul over the Devizes line and Sam New joining the maul from scrum half not only held the ball up but also drove the Bracknell pack back 5 metres before forcing a turnover and scrum. Devizes ran out 10 - 0 winners from this draining encounter.
Then came the final vs. a revitalised Dorking A, who had just beaten Salisbury in their Semi Final. George Ormond lead the team out in front of a very over excited set of parents and supporters into a great contest for the final. Yet again the Devizes defence was impenetrable, the tackles went from strength to strength as Devizes forced numerous turnovers from committed and intense play in the contact areas.
The win was secured with three tries, the first from Ellis Rosario cutting back inside with a magical side step to score just before the break and then two bullocking runs from scrum and maul from Player of the Week Sam New leaving the final score at 15 - 0.
