SWINDON Town will not receive any further tickets from Walsall ahead of the pair’s final-day League Two fixture at the Banks’ Stadium.

Town are set to face the Saddlers on Saturday knowing victory will secure a play-off place at the end of an extraordinary season.

The Wiltshire club will be backed by 3,500 fans after tickets for the game sold out in a matter of days once they went on sale last month.

Following three wins in a row recently which put Town’s fate back in their own hands, many more fans had been trying to secure a seat for what is sure to be a memorable afternoon.

However, Swindon’s ticket office published a Tweet on Tuesday morning which stated anyone who does not already have a spot in either the University of Wolverhampton Stand or the St Francis Group Community Stand will be unable to attend.

The club’s ticket office said: “We would like to inform fans that tickets for our trip to Walsall on Saturday have SOLD OUT, and we will NOT be receiving anymore.

“You will not be able to purchase a ticket on the day, so if you don't have a ticket, please do not travel.”

Fans who had considered purchasing a ticket in the home stands have been told by Walsall that they will be unable to do so.

In a statement on the club’s website, the Saddlers said: “We would like to inform supporters that tickets for our final match of the season against Swindon Town on Saturday, May 7 can only be purchased by supporters with a previous booking history with us.

“Swindon Town have sold out their full allocation and no further tickets will be available to away supporters.

“We advise any supporters who have not got booking history with us not to travel to the game on the day as you will not be able to get a ticket.

“Supporters who have got booking history can purchase tickets online or call the ticket office on 01922 651 416.”

According to EFL regulations, clubs are not limited by a maximum number of tickets that away clubs can receive but that home clubs can set a cap based on advice from local police forces and safety officers.
