MALMESBURY racer Louis Harvey could see his dream of breaking into Formula One end if significant sponsorship funds are not found imminently.

The Malmesbury teenager requires circa £400,000 worth of sponsorship from one or multiple businesses in order to make his dream a reality.

The highly-talented 17-year-old had achieved a number of titles as a junior and was awarded with a place on the Motorsport UK academy squad due to his extraordinary talent as a racing driver.

Harvey was set to join Formula 4 this season after ending an impressive karting career by recording a top-five finish in the Ultimate Karting Championship in 2021.

But with the all-televised F4 campaign set to begin in April, Harvey is on track to miss out due to a financial issue rather than a lack of talent.

Should he be unable to enter F4 this year, the 17-year-old will continue to race in karting at a national level as his family and team endeavour to find the sponsorship for F4 or GB4 for 2023.

Harvey has been recognised as a sparkling talent by a number of high-profile people in motorsport, including Ron Meadows, Sporting Director of Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team.

He said: “I’ve been closely monitoring Louis’ racing career for a couple years now, and after his win in British Junior TKM I was excited to see him progress into Seniors.

“Instantly, Louis showed great pace, fighting for points and podium positions against some very tough competition.

“Louis is a determined, adaptable and humble young man and with the right financial backing could go far in his Motorsport career”.
