It is with great hope and anticipation that on Saturday, August 14, grassroots football will resume with the start of The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Trowbridge and District Football League.

The management committee would like to express it’s gratitude to long time League sponsor Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories, along with cup sponsors AM Print & Copy, Chantry Digital Ltd and Gooding Accounts Ltd. Their support of grassroots football is much appreciated.

This year will see 22 teams competing over 2 Divisions in what promises to be a highly competitive season.

The opening weekend will see Freshford United entertain Hilperton United with both teams no doubt looking to get off to a good start at Abbey Lane.

Bratton Recreation Ground will see The Duke FC, who were formally Three Daggers take on Division One newcomers Staverton Rangers.

Warminster United will be hosting Semington Magpies at the Land Warfare Centre, Warminster with the final Division One match taking place at Meadow Lane, Westbury where Westbury United Reserves will take on Melksham Town Development.

In Division Two, Calne Eagles will be hoping for a strong start to the season when they visit last years newcomers Potterne FC at Northbrook, Market Lavington.

Seend United will be entertaining last season other new team Bromham Owls at Seend Lye Field.

St Mary’s in Steeple Ashton will see The Stiffs start their campaign when they host Westbury United ‘A’.

The final game of the opening weekend will be at Woodmarsh with Trowbridge Town Reserves welcoming Dilton Marsh Wanderers in what promises to be an entertaining match.

All games kick off at 3pm.

In an extremely busy opening week to the new season their are also 10 midweek games if anyone is looking to take in a match.

In Division One, on Tuesday 17 Semington Magpies play Hilperton United, Heytesbury will open their season with a visit to Staverton FC, The Duke will host Freshford United and Westbury United Reserves will play Warminster United with all games kicking off at 6.15pm. On Thursday evening Melksham Town Development will host Marshfield at the InfiLED Arena at 6.15pm.

There are five midweek games in Division Two, and three on Tuesday 17 when Calne Eagles will play Bromham Owls at Beversbrook, league newcomers Shrewton United Development will start their season with a visit to Northbrook in Market Lavington to take on Potterne, and The Stiffs will entertain Trowbridge Town Reserves.

On Thursday 19, a busy first week of the season will see another new team to the league, Bradford Town ‘A’ start their season by welcoming Dilton Marsh Wanderers to their base on Trowbridge Road Bradford.

Also on Thursday evening Westbury United ‘A’ will play Seend United at the Land Warfare Centre in Warminster with a 6.15pm kick off.
