WESTBURY United beat Trowbridge Town 1-0 to retain the Alliance Shield on Tuesday night after a first-half goal from Jack Biddiscombe.
The Hellenic League Premier side got off to the perfect start when Biddiscombe turned home Ryan Bole’s cross at the near post during the first half.
Trowbridge - who play their football in the Wiltshire Senior League - showed their resilience and quality though, forcing Westbury goalkeeper Mark Bowden into a pair of smart saves.
The first came after a wicked deflection while the second effort was destined for the top corner before Bowden stuck out a palm to turn it around the post.
But Westbury held on in front of 109 at Meadow Lane to lift the pre-season trophy.
Elsewhere, Bradford Town lost 1-0 to Frome Town in a pre-season friendly in midweek.
The Bobcats have just one more friendly - against Melksham Town at the InfiLED Arena on Saturday - before they take on Hythe & Dibden in the FA Cup extra preliminary round on August 7.
Corsham Town beat Tytherington Rocks 3-2 last Saturday while Calne Town drew 1-1 with Mangotsfield United in pre-season.
