THE English flag will be flown outside of County Hall as Wiltshire Council shows its support for the national team as they prepare to face Italy in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.
On Wednesday evening, England won an incredibly tense 2-1 semi-final against Denmark.
Now, as they gear up to bring football home, Wiltshire Council is showing its support by flying St George’s cross outside of its Trowbridge offices.
Leader of the council, Richard Clewer said: “Wiltshire is firmly backing our boys as they look to win Euro 2020 at Wembley on Sunday.
“To show our support for the England team, we’re proudly flying the flag at County Hall in Trowbridge, Bourne Hill in Salisbury and Monkton Park in Chippenham, as well as at other council buildings this weekend and into next week.
“We’re proud of what the team has achieved, particularly Tyrone Mings who grew up in Chippenham, and flying the flag is our own way of showing that we’re behind them all the way.
“Italy have been playing well and will be tough opponents, but we all hope to be celebrating on Sunday.
“I hope that all football fans in Wiltshire can enjoy the match safely, and that we will all have a smile on our face at the final whistle, because football’s coming home!”
