SUNDAY night saw plans officially launched for a new European Super League that could potentially have wide-ranging effects on football.

Six English clubs have joined the new midweek competition - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur - that is said to be a replacement for the Champions League.

Many, including FIFA, the Premier League and Prime Minister Boris Johnson, have condemned the news, saying the move is being driven purely by money, would destroy domestic leagues, and is against the integrity of the sport.

Meanwhile, the ESL say it will generate more money than the Champions League and that will result in a greater distribution of revenue throughout the game.

But what do you think? As many of you will be Swindon Town fans, do you believe this will even affect your team? Or is this a problem that could have wide-ranging and long-lasting effects way down into the football pyramid?
