WARMINSTER Town Football Club will be raising money for Warminster & District Food Bank next month by running the equivalent distance of between the club’s Weymouth Street ground and Barcelona’s Camp Nou.

Starting on February 1, the men’s first team, men’s reserve side and women’s outfit will be adding up the miles they run on their own throughout the following 28 days in order to reach the 1000-mile target.

Warminster player, Owen Bartley wanted to help the local charity deal with the effects of poverty, after struggles were worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Owen and the teams have set an initial target of £500, but hope the supporters and anyone else throughout Wiltshire and beyond will help them to smash their goal courtesy of their generosity.

Regular updates will be issued throughout February on the progress being made, via the club website and social media accounts.

Any size of donation can be made through Warminster Town’s Go Fund Me page, while the link can also be found on the football club’s website, warminstertownfc.com.
