SWINDON Town manager John Sheridan wants to see his team start to chain consecutive wins together after the club’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town last Saturday.

The win took Swindon to within a point of safety in League One, and it turned out to be an important victory too following Burton’s 1-0 success over Gillingham and Rochdale’s 3-3 draw with Crewe Alexandra after being 3-0 down.

With a difficult fixture against in-form Doncaster Rovers coming up at the County Ground this weekend, Town’s chances of granted their manager’s wish seem slim.

Yet, the former Republic of Ireland international believes the hard work that his team will put in in the days leading up to their next League One fixture will pay dividends at 3pm on Saturday.

He said: “We’re going to work as hard as we can this week, and we’ll need to.

“It’s good winning one game, but I’d like us to win four, five, six, seven games in a row.

“You’ve got to work hard if you want to be a good team, and a successful team. It will be a success if we stay up this season because this is a tough, tough league.

“We come to Ipswich one week, and then we’ve still got to play Doncaster, Charlton and Hull this month.

“We’ve got some hard games coming up, so we’ll enjoy our win last weekend, but we’ve got to win a few more.”
