ETCHILHAMPTON’s Tommy Bridewell scored more valuable Bennetts British Superbike Championship points with a 6th and 5th place finish at Silverstone last weekend.

On his Oxford Products Racing Ducati, Bridewell performed admirably on the 1.64 mile National Circuit, having finished in 10th place in the Saturday race.

Bridewell’s encouraging weekend now see’s the Wiltshire rider jump up to joint-second in the championship with 122 points.

In the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship, local riders and team mates in the Morello Racing Team, Danny Kent and Fraser Rogers both had two point scoring rides, with Kent securing a third-place finish in his first race.

One of the other local riders in action in the British GP2 Cup championship, Swindon’s Charlie Nessbitt, had a DNF and a ninth-place finish putting him sixth in the title race.

In the Ducati Tri option Cup, Swindon rider Elliot Pinson had two DNF’s, however he is still third in the race for the championship.

And in the Hel Performance British Junior Championship, Oscar Pinson had a DNF and a 10th place finish, leaving him ninth in his championship table.

The next round of the championships is at Oulton Park between September 18-20.
