WILTSHIRE Karting ace Dominic Kilmister completed the double this weekend at Kimbolton Kart Club in East Anglia, winning the third round of the Club Championship and finishing the event as junior TKM Winter Series Champion.

Saturday’s testing went very well, and Kilmister approached qualifying on Sunday morning with high expectations. Unfortunately, things did not go to plan and he only qualified 13th out of 33.

Heat One was a scrappy affair, but Kilmister managed to make up seven places, finishing sixth.

A couple of rain showers before heat two required a full kart set-up change, but Kilmister rose to the challenge finishing fifth.

This placed him fifth on the grid for the final.

The youngster made a great start, moving into third in the first corner and then second during lap four, with the top 10 constantly swapping places in a very tightly-contested race.

With five laps to go, Kilmister made a decisive move for the lead and managed to break away as the rest of the front pack squabbled over the remaining podium places behind him.

The Wiltshire teenager took the chequered flag by more than two seconds down the road, with Tim Wilson Motorsport teammate Alistair Cresswell finishing just behind in second.

After a run of impressive results against the best in class stretching back to September 2019, the Chippenham teenager and British Karting Championship number eight seed in Junior TKM is now considered one of the favourites for this year’s British title.

However, in order to achieve Dominic’s dream of becoming British Champion 2020, the family urgently require sponsorship to help towards meeting the costs of the Championship.

If any local businesses, or individuals, would like to be associated with this rising motor-racing star please get in touch with the family by emailing Dominic’s father Paul using address paul.kilminster@hotmail.co.uk.
