Adver Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players following their 1-0 victory over Northampton Town at the PTS Academy Stadium in League Two.

Steven Benda: 9

Made three excellent saves to deny Northampton a goal and proved his talent as one of the best goalkeepers in the league.

Paul Caddis: 6

Only on for 25 minutes before being withdrawn due to a hamstring injury. Defended solidly and kept Adams quiet early on. Subbed.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green: 8

The young man belied his years by heading and tackling everything that came in his direction. The change in defensive partner caused him no issues either.

Zeki Fryers: 7

Did OK at centre back before looking a lot more comfortable in his natural left-back position. His pace helped Swindon in both directions in the second half.

Rob Hunt: 7

Kept things simple at left-back and kept Northampton’s wingers as quiet as possible after his switch to the other side.

Anthony Grant: 8

More industrious work in midfield allowed Doughty the freedom to roam and create going forward. Barely put a foot wrong defensively.

Michael Doughty: 7

Was involved a lot when Swindon went forward, but passing was ever so slightly off on a few occasions that could have seen the visitors score one or two more.

Jordan Lyden: 9

Did all the grunt work alongside Grant, made a goal-saving tackle in the 75th minute before winning the game four minutes later. Brilliant.

Diallang Jaiyesimi: 6

Not Jaiyesimi’s game at all. Didn’t run at the Northampton defenders much and missed two guilt-edge chances in the second half. Subbed.

Eoin Doyle: 7

Had two early chances that were quite tame and was needlessly booked, but made up for that with a sumptuous cross for Lyden to head home.

Lloyd Isgrove: 7

While Isgrove did look quite bright at times, the winger did also miss two chances to release teammates on breakaways. Certainly good, but could have been even better. Subbed.

SUBSTITUTES

Tom Broadbent: 8

Absolutely brilliant was Broadbent. He kept things simple, but dealt with everything that came his way with the minimum of fuss.

Jerry Yates: 7

Was a real livewire during his team on the pitch and dragged his team forward in search of the winner. Could have made it two right at the end, but hit the bar.

Kaiyne Woolery: N/A

Not on for very long, but had two shots saved. Did his job.
