DIVISION ONE

With Marshfield involved in cup action, Devizes Town Reserves would have been hoping to increase the pressure at the top of The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division One but were held to a 1 – 1 draw by Warminster Town Reserves. Angus Webster was on the scoresheet for Devizes with Sam Clift earning a hard-fought point for Warminster. The result keeps Devizes in pole position for the title, two points clear of Marshfield but having played three games more.

Semington Magpies dented Heytesbury title challenge in the Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division One beating them 2 – 1 for their first win since early December. Tyler Dagger opened the scoring for The Magpies after 10 minutes with a fantastic strike into the top corner from 20 yards, and Ollie Winchcombe increased the lead after 23 minutes scoring from close range following a corner. Joel Sisson pulled one back for Heytesbury 10 minutes before the break heading home a Charlie Waylon free kick. An excellent team performance from Semington with Bobby Mitchell excellent in midfield saw the three points go to The Magpies.

Melksham Town ‘A’s recent good form continued with a well-earned 1 – 0 win against visitors Hilperton United. Olly Clarke grabbed the only goal in the first half to earn Melksham’s third victory in the last four games.

Calne Town Reserves picked up their third league win of the season beating Freshford 3 – 1 in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division One. Two goals from Edrin Assante gave Calne a 2 – 0 lead at the break before Jack Sterling reduced the arrears for Freshford early in the second half. Matty Hall converted a penalty to secure the points for Calne after Tom Stratton was tripped in the box.

DIVISION TWO

Calne Eagles are the latest team to fall in KEW PR FCs promotion and title charge in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division Two losing 3 – 0. KEW PRs 100% record continued with Mark Maguire opening the scoring after two minutes and David Percival increasing the lead on the 25-minute mark. Mike Little secured the points with the third goal in the last minute.

Staverton United were leading Barford Hornets 2 – 0 before the game was abandoned after 86 minutes. Alex Shaw and Adam Pickford were on the scoresheet for Staverton.

Westbury United Reserves returned to form with a 5 – 0 win from their visit to The Stiffs. Two goals from Ollie Dew and a strike each from Mathew Dew, Cameron Dawes and Marc Lanfear secured the points for Westbury and lift them into third place in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division Two.

Goals from Keegan Smart and George Alexe gave Aces FC a 2 – 1 win against Seend United in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division Two. Tom Jones was on the scoresheet for Seend United.

WILTSHIRE JUNIOR CUP – QUARTER FINALS

Trowbridge and District Division One team Three Daggers moved into the semi finals of The Wiltshire Junior Cup with a 1 – 0 win over Blunsdon FC. Mark Young scored the decisive goal to put The Daggers into the last four.

Warminster United narrowly lost in their quarter final tie of The Wiltshire Junior Cup losing 2 – 1 to Alderbury FC. Warminster’s goal was scored by Brendan Hind.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE INTERMEDIATE CUP – SEMI FINAL

Trowbridge and District Division One team Marshfield lost 5 – 3 on penalties in the semi-final of The Gloucestershire Intermediate Cup to Saints Old Boys Reserves. Ben Gardner scored for Marshfield in the first half of a tight game that finished 1 – 1 after extra time before falling agonisingly short in the shoot-out.
