DEFENDER Will Richards is to leave Chippenham Town after announcing he is heading to Australia.
Richards has played more than 150 games for the Bluebirds and was a key member of the squad that won the Southern League Premier Division title in 2017.
A club statement read: "Will Richards will be leaving the club and moving to Australia on December 27.
"He will be on secondment and leaves with a heavy heart, however, is very much looking forward to experience.
"Will, who informed the manager a couple of weeks ago, has played over 150 games and was a integral part of the championship-winning squad.
"We, of course, all wish Will and his family a very Merry Christmas."
Chippenham manager Mark Collier said: "Will Richards has been absolutely fantastic for me.
"He was a major signing at the time and has proved over many games that, as a defender, he is amongst the very best around as well as always having a goal in him.
"He is great lad to have around, is truly respected and will be sorely missed as a player and as a man.
"I personally thank him for his professionalism, attitude and manner and wish him every success in the future."
