ROYAL Wootton Bassett Town extended their winning run in Hellenic League Premier Division to a third game last weekend as they triumphed 2-0 away at Reading City.

Charlie McCuish capitalised on a defensive mistake to put Bassett ahead at half-time before Brad Pagliaroli made the points safe for Sam Collier’s side in the second period with a crisp strike from the edge of the box.

Bassett have now moved out of the bottom four in the table and are only three points shy of Lydney Town in 10th.

Collier's troops will fancy their chances of extending their winning sequence on Saturday as they travel to struggling Virginia Water.

Third-placed Malmesbury Victoria had no game in Division One West last weekend but were due in action on Tuesday night when they travelled to Bemerton Heath Harlequins in the Wiltshire Senior Cup.

The Vics resume their league programme on Saturday away at Bourton Rovers.
