CHIPPENHAM Moonraker Gymnastics ended their season on a high note when they came away with a haul of medals – including golds – when they contested their final competition of the year at the West Country League Final.

A total of three teams were in action, with Danielle Armado, Emily Clark, Freyja Irving-French, Maddie Grimshaw, Eloisa Slade and Florrie Strange first up in the A League.

The B League team was made up of Jemma Vincent, Leah Bishop, Tamar Hibbert, Emily Macklin-Day, Katherine Allday and Anca Minea, while Millie Stokes, Katie Francis, Sophie Townsend, Ellie Treacy and Eva Falcone-Healy were all in the C League squad.

The A League side opened up proceedings and got off to a strong start, winning a bronze medal on the day as well as placing fourth overall in the league.

The B League team improved on that performance and claimed a silver medal on the day as well as finishing second in the overall league.

But that effort was topped by the C League team once they took to the mats as they won gold on the day as well as winning the over league championship title.

Moonraker head coach Hannah West said: “I am extremely proud of all the teams who showed impeccable team spirit.

“All of the gymnasts gained fantastic personal achievements throughout the year and showcased one of their best competitions to this date.

“After all the gymnasts and coaches working so hard, the medals were just the icing on the cake and very well deserved.

“Special thanks to all of the parents, judges and coaches who came along and helped with the running of the competition on the day and supported the gymnasts and club.”
