CHIPPENHAM racer Dominic Kilmister finished as the eighth seed in the British Karting Championship after taking two podium finishes in the final rounds at Whilton Mill International Kart Circuit.
After finishing second in qualifying, 14-year-old Kilmister followed that up with second place finishes in both of his heats, placing him on pole for Final One.
After a dramatic race, he finished in second place, which is where he started Final Two.
Another intense race unfolded with Kilmister dropping back to fifth after a difficult start.
However, as the front five broke away from the rest of the field, Kilmister managed to battle his way back into contention, and finished third at the chequered flag.
He also set the fastest lap of the race – an event record of 46.38 seconds.
After the points were totalled, it was confirmed that Kilmister had finished eighth overall in the British Championship in only his 3rd season in the Junior TKM class.
Previous alumni in the championship includes Jenson Button, Anthony Davidson and Jason Plato.
