LEAGUE leaders Wroughton made it 10 wins from 10 to start the season after beating division strugglers Pewsey Vale 11-1 on Saturday.

Shane Hibbert’s four-goal haul in the opening 45 added to Tom Dingle’s solitary strike to put the leaders in a commanding position at half-time.

Corey Cullen netted Pewsey’s only goal just before the break, but once the second half got underway, it was more of the same from Wroughton.

Aaron Maximen, Riegan Cook and Craig Bowden all scored to make it 8-1 before Tom Price notched a late hat-trick of his own to add some gloss to the already impressive scoreline.

Alex Pippard was the derby-day hero as Trowbridge claimed all three points against near-neighbours Holt thanks to a 1-0 victory.

The only goal of the game from Pippard ensured Trowbridge remained in sixth, but closed the gap on Kintbury in fifth.

There was late drama at Kintbury Recreation Ground as Corsham Town Reserves barely held on to their unbeaten record away from home in a 1-1 draw.

Goalless at half-time, Robbie Sadler dispatched a second-half penalty to put Kintbury in front and on course for a precious three points.

However, as the game moved into stoppage time, Dan Lardner struck with the last kick of the game to rescue Corsham and ensure the spoils were shared.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development came from 1-0 down to beat neighbours Purton 3-1 on the road.

Joe Dorey had put the hosts in front, but goals from Dale Richards, Bailey Gallagher and Aaron Oakley ensured Bassett moved up to seventh place.

Stratton Juniors claimed an important victory in their battle against relegation, beating Ludgershall Sports 3-2 while both sides finished with 10 men.

In a fractious meeting of two struggling sides, Nathaniel Harrison put Juniors in front before the visitors missed a penalty to make it 2-0.

Ludgershall rallied and went 2-1 up prior to half-time, only for Ryan Major to dispatch a second-half penalty to level the scores before nabbing a late winner.

Meanwhile, in the Fountain Trophies Cup first round, Melksham Town Reserves comfortably saw off Malmesbury Victoria Development 8-0 while Shrewton United beat Frome Collegians 4-2.

Cricklade Town's home tie against Marlborough Town was postponed.
