LIKELY LINE-UP
ONE TO WATCH: Tom Lowery
CREWE Alexandra are well known for bringing players from their academy through to the first team, and Tommy Lowery is a clear example of that.
After signing his first pro deal at Gresty Road back in 2016, he has since gone onto make 80 senior appearances for the club.
Now 21, the midfielder has appeared in all 13 of the Alex’s League Two fixtures this season and is starting to make a name for himself.
Having only scored once for the club before the 2019-20 campaign, Lowey has got four goals already this season.
He could be a key man as Crewe look to stay top of the table.
KEY BATTLE: Mathieu Baudry v Chris Porter
AGE is proving no barrier to Crewe Alexandra’s Chris Porter this season.
Two months before he turns 36, the striker is in red-hot form, leading the way in the Alex scoring charts with six goals in 15 appearances.
Three of those have come in his last four games after Porter netted against Salford City, Cheltenham Town and Carlisle United.
Mathieu Baudry made a welcome return to the Swindon Town defence last weekend after a spell on the sidelines due to injury and will likely have a key role to play against Crewe on Saturday.
The Town back-line has been heavily reshuffled, so Baudry may well take on the responsibility of keeping Porter quiet at Gresty Road.
