AVON Valley Runners member Rosemary Barber again proved age is no barrier as she mounted another successful attempt on the Stoppomat Challenge in Spain.
The event sees competitors tackle a timed cycle ride up to the Col de Rates mountain pass in Costa Blanca, with the course approximately 7km long.
There is a timing clock at the start of the course, with cyclists stamping their card before riding to the top of the pass, where another timing clock records their finishing time.
Entrants leave their details on their card at the timing hut, where all results are collated and then posted online.
Upon returning home, Barber – who has just turned 70 – discovered she had achieved the annual fastest time for her age group.
To finish her season, Barber competed in the recent Midsomer Triathlon, where she again finished first in her category.
She finished the 400m swim, 21km bike ride and 5.5km run in a time of 1 hour 45 minutes.
