LAVINGTON School pupil Thomas Johnson has won the 2019 National Motoreasy GB Biathle series competition, beating athletes in the U15s age group from all around the UK.
Biathle is a Modern Pentathlon competition that consists of a combined run and swim race, and the series comprises a season-long competition that includes six races held around the country, culminating in Sunday’s season finale in York.
Points are earned from each race completed and a league table is generated.
Johnson emerged victorious in the York race last weekend and in doing so, secured enough points to win this year’s U15s competition at his first attempt in this age group.
The Wiltshire youngster is a member of Bath Pentathlon Club and also on the Team Bath future athlete programme, which is based at the university’s Sports Training Village.
Johnson has previously represented Team GB internationally in Modern Pentathlon competition but this is his first national title.
