The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

ONE TO WATCH: Tom Lapslie

ACADEMY graduate Tom Lapslie has no doubt caught the eye of Colchester United boss John McGreal in his side’s opening fixtures.

A number of key tackles were successfully executed in their home clash against Port Vale, while he was unlucky not to score against table-topping Plymouth Argyle at the weekend.

Aged 23, Lapslie has already clocked over 120 appearances for the U’s since joining the club as a 16-year-old.

His ability to move the ball quickly from United’s back-line to the forwards on the counter is a danger – a style that arguably fits in with Swindon Town boss Richie Wellens’ preferred way of playing.

Keep an eye on him.

KEY BATTLE: Scott Twine v Luke Prosser

IT MIGHT be that Swindon Town boss Richie Wellens opts for some experience up front tonight given the lengthy career of Colchester United skipper and centre-back Luke Prosser.

With over 200 Football League appearances to his name since 2010, Prosser’s experience in United’s back four is invaluable.

From Town’s point of view, excluding players that started against Carlisle United at the weekend, Scott Twine is the best out-and-out striker Jerry Yates is an option, but it’s unlikely he will make an appearance with a trip to Exeter City looming in League Two on Saturday.

The same applies to Keshi Anderson and Kaiyne Woolery.
