KYLE Campbell won the Junior Open crown at Marlborough Golf Club for the second year in a row.

The Wrag Barn player shot gross 78 to retain his trophy ahead of Broome Manor’s Lewy Hayward (79) and Cumberwell Park’s Callum Bygrave (79).

Finlay Mulvey won the nett prize with a score of 66, while Jennifer Almond was the leading girl with nett 73.

Meanwhile at Erlestoke Golf Club, North Wilts player Joe Barker won their Junior Open with a gross score of 77.

Cumberwell’s Toby Clark (78) was runner-up, with club-mate Bygrave (79) third.

Broome Manor’s Niamh Cripps won the nett prize with a score of 60, while Sophie Corredor-Escalante was the best girl with net 75.

A third and final Junior Open was contested at Chippenham Golf Club, where Marlborough player Oscar Oliver triumphed with gross 77.

Manor House’s Dom Samra (78) was second ahead of The Wiltshire’s Ben Mazzotta (78) in third.

Home player Dan Grice took the spoils in the nett competition with 68, while North Wilts’ Lewis Barker won the 11-hole challenge on the back of the main competition.

Entries are still open for the 35th Hills Wiltshire Junior Golf Championship being held at Marlborough Golf Club on Wednesday, August 21.

The competition, which is sponsored by The Hills Group and run in conjunction with Wiltshire Golf, is open to boys and girls up to 18 years old.

Those with CONGU competition handicaps will play the 18-hole course in a medal format.

Players aged 11 and under without CONGU handicaps are able to compete over a nine-hole short course (scratch competition with maximum 10 shots per hole).

Entry fees, which include a meal, are £10 per player and can be made via the Wiltshire Golf website at www.wiltshiregolf.org until August 12.
