Adver Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players following their 2-0 victory away at Scunthorpe United in League Two.

Luke McCormick: 6.5 – Solid if not spectacular. Struggled with his kicking at times, but did well to make a couple of good saves, and was not required very much at all.

Rob Hunt: 7 – Was only just given the nod ahead of Reid and has probably secured his starting spot next Saturday with an experienced showing against the dangerous Adam Hammill.

Dion Conroy: 7.5 – The young centre-half is maturing day by day under the tutelage of both Wellens and Baudry. Conroy put in a captain’s performance and looked comfortable snuffing out Novak for the most part.

Mathieu Baudry: 7 – The Frenchman put a shaky showing against Coventry behind him well, as you’d expect, and grew into the game, although he might have grabbed a goal himself late on in the first half.

Zeke Fryers: 7 – Had a tendency to try and over-complicate things in the first half, but after a message from his manager, showed his class in the second and allowed Woolery to kick on down the left.

Jordan Lyden: 7.5 – Very impressive from the young midfielder. He showed patience, a good first touch and his passing was top notch. He could be key in allowing Town’s attacking players to kick on this season.

Michael Doughty: 7 – Very much a mature Michael Doughty performance. Not often featuring in an attacking sense, the midfielder sat in with Lyden and dictated the tempo of the game well in the second half.

Keshi Anderson: 8 – Given yet another chance by Wellens, Anderson proved his worth and then some by fighting, sprinting and popping up all over the pitch. Got a deserved goal, but this cannot just be a flash in the pan. Consistency is key for Keshi. Subbed.

Lloyd Isgrove: 7.5 – Tried hard to replicate his pre-season performances early on, but to little avail. Once he relaxed and found his touch, the little winger caused all sorts of problems the longer the game went on. Subbed.

Kaiyne Woolery: 7.5 – Woolery had a similar game to Isgrove in many ways. A bit of a scratchy start developed into a more than credible performance, and by the end, he looked full of confidence.

Jerry Yates: 7.5 – The striker ran his heart out for 90 minutes and up until the goal, looked like he might once again be frustrated by a lack of support. The win and goal don’t change that in Wellens’ view, but Yates was delighted to get off the mark in game one.

Neither substitute had much time at all to make a real impression. Their chance to impress is likely to come on Tuesday against Chelsea U21.
