SWINDON Wildcats will play four pre-season challenge fixtures ahead of their 2019-20 National League campaign, starting with the visit of Bracknell Bees to the Link Centre on Saturday, September 7.

The Wildcats will then make their first visit of the season to the John Nike Leisuresport Complex for a return fixture against Bracknell 24 hours later.

Telford Tigers will also be the subject of Cats’ pre-season campaign for another double-header.

Aaron Nell’s side will tackle the Shropshire outfit at home on Saturday, September 14, before the away fixture is again contested the following day.

Bracknell have made a number of notable team changes during the off-season, with ex-Streatham forward Ryan Webb and 24-year-old Coventry Blaze academy product Adam Goss joining their ranks.

Former Wildcat Robin Kovar has also joined the Berkshire club, while ex-Bee Tyler Vankleef will ice in Swindon colours for the first time.

Tigers will also provide Nell’s roster with a challenging pre-season test.

Netminder Brad Day, who joined Tom Watkins’ side from Sheffield Steelers this summer, spearheads an impressive Telford side.

Jason Silverthorn, Jonathan Weaver and Rick Plant are also part of the Tigers’ set-up.

Player-coach Nell said: “We are always thrilled to get the dates for the first games out there.

“We are all looking forward to the new season and now the countdown is on.

“Bracknell and Telford will be tough games for us and they are always entertaining ones to watch for the fans.

“We are working on the fixtures and the date for the season launch, which will be announced as soon as possible.

“We would like to thank Bracknell and Telford for agreeing to these matches and the club cannot wait for the puck to drop in September.”
