LORIS Taylor is excited for what the future holds for Swindon Wildcats after signing a new contract to remain with the club earlier this week.

Forward Taylor, who came through the ranks at the club, has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal at the Link Centre and will be on the first-team roster for Swindon’s maiden season in the newly-formed National League.

Taylor scored 31 points for Swindon across all competitions during the 2018-19 season – a campaign that saw them crowned league champions in NIHL South One.

With new challenges at a higher level awaiting Aaron Nell’s side come late summer, Taylor is thrilled to remain part of the plans at his home town club and is itching to report back to work for the start of pre-season training.

“First of all, I would like to say how glad I am to be back in Swindon for another year,” said 25-year-old Taylor.

“After the success we had last season, and the individual success I had, I am delighted to have been asked back by Aaron.

“Winning the league was massive for the club and with the changes in British hockey for the coming season, I feel next season will be a big challenge for us.

“Hopefully we can continue to build on the recent success and add some more silverware to the cabinet.

“I really cannot wait to hit the ice again later in the summer and get ready for what promises to be an exciting season of hockey.”
