DEVIZES CC Ladies reached the Southern regional final of the ECB Ladies National Plate competition with victory in a rain-affected match at Devon side Bradninch on Sunday.
Batting first in the regional semi-final, Devizes set a target of 169-3 off their 20 overs, with Sam Shuker making a hard-hitting 85 and Sarah-Jane Rountree supporting well with an unbeaten 58 in a stand of more than 100.
Excellent bowling constrained the Devon side to 31-6 after 11 overs before rain intervened, with wickets shared between Anna Mae Shearn (2-1), Jen Brightmore (1-13), Emma Zabeo (1-4) and Amy Langan (2-5).
Devizes ended as winners by 138 runs and now go onto the Southern regional final, which is one step away from the National Finals Day.
