TEENAGER Joe Romanski has signed a one-year extension to his Swindon Town contract, the club has confirmed.

Romanski, who spent the conclusion of his latest campaign with National League South outfit Bath City, has been at the club since the age of 15 – and completed his first season as a professional earlier this month having finished a two-year scholarship at the end of last season.

The 19-year-old became the first player born in the new millennium to play for the club, and has since made 10 appearances – scoring one goal.

He told the club’s official website: “I’m really happy. Happy that Richie Wellens has put enough trust in me to keep me at the club for another year to further my development.

“The experiences I’ve gained over the last year are only going to help me become a better player.

“The spell I had with the first-team at the start of the season and at the end with Bath – they’re experiences that I can only gain a positive understanding from.

“I’ve already started my pre-season programme – getting strong, getting fit and make that position mine this year.”
