The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

ONE TO WATCH: Nicky Maynard

BURY certainly are not shy to score this season as with 71 goals to their name, they are the highest scoring team in League Two.

And that success can be pinned partly to the form of proven goalscorer Nicky Maynard.

He hasn’t gone four games without scoring all season, and he’s starting to rekindle the form he displayed at Crewe Alexandra as a teenager which ultimately led to him to sign for Bristol City and Cardiff City in future years.

While he hasn’t quite realised his potential, the 32-year-old brings an element of experience to the Bury side as they look to reclaim a place in League One.

Against a young Swindon Town back four, Maynard will be keen on adding to his tally of 18 goals.

KEY BATTLE: Canice Carroll v Jay O’Shea

PRONE to moving forward, attacking midfielder Jay O’Shea has proved somewhat of a wildcard for Bury this season.

The Irishman had to wait until mid-October for his first marker this season, but goals have since been easy to come by.

His dominance behind Bury’s front two of Caolan Lavery and Nicky Maynard means holding midfield Canice Carroll faces - arguably - the toughest task of Swindon Town’s starting XI against the Shakers.

Carroll played a patient game last weekend against Morecambe, a similar style will suit him well against one of the league’s better players.

Luke Woolfenden and Dion Conroy will need to be on form too.
