YOUNG Malmesbury racer Louis Harvey claimed victory on his SuperOne Junior ROK debut at Fulbeck last weekend.

Harvey was keen to impress at his first-ever race weekend on board his new Klaassen Motorsport ARC chassis, and he did not disappoint as took an early lead in the championship.

The weekend started well for Harvey and after initially posting the fastest time in qualifying, he was narrowly bumped down onto second on the grid.

Despite a troublesome start to the first race where he dropped to fifth, Harvey was swiftly into the lead and held off strong competition for the remainder of the 17-lap race to take victory.

Engine problems caused a set-back in race two, although Harvey was able to recover to finish third following a spark plug change.

Starting second for the third race, Harvey initially dropped to third, but he was hot on the heels of the leader by the end of lap two and eventually settled for a second-placed finish.

A clean move early in the final race of the weekend had Harvey into the lead and he was able to open up a decent gap over the opening nine laps.

Although failing tyres required a more defensive style, Harvey safely negotiated the closing laps to claim a second win of the weekend.
