PEWSEY Vale missed out on the chance to claim back-to-back wins in Hellenic League Division One West for the first time in 2019 last weekend after they lost 3-1 at Clanfield (85).

Alistair Tuttle’s side claimed a 3-1 win in their previous match at home to Tytherington Rocks a fortnight earlier, but went down by the same scoreline upon their return to action.

The hosts held a narrow 1-0 advantage at the break and were able to pull further clear in the second half despite Vale getting on the scoresheet through substitute Harvey Flippance.

Pewsey’s cause was not helped by the dismissal of Ryan Banks for a second bookable offence.

Divisional rivals Malmesbury Victoria had no game at the weekend but host Flackwell Heath in the Floodlit Cup on Tuesday night.

In the Premier Division, Royal Wootton Town were without a game at the weekend and return to action at Ascot United on Saturday.
