A WILTSHIRE-based director of golf will jet off to America next year after being named England’s TGI PING Top Fitter of the Year.

Ian Ridsdale, of Wrag Barn golf club in Highworth, found out this week that he will jet off to Phoenix, Arizona, after he was named as one of three national finalists at an event staged at PING’s European headquarters in Gainsborough.

Ridsdale will jet off to the manufacturer of golf equipment’s world headquarters next year where he will enjoy a tour of the complex and enjoy a VIP fitting experience.

He said: “It was an amazing experience just getting through to the regional final and spending the day at Gainsborough. I’m truly honoured to now be heading out to Phoenix to see PING’s main HQ, it’s going to be amazing.”

To reach the stage of the competition that he did, Ridsdale had to stand out in a number of areas, including commitment to fitting, commitment to the brand and store quality.

During the selection process, PING’s team review all account information before receiving feedback from their own team.

Matthew Clark, PING European marketing manager, said: “Congratulations to Ian, who had that little bit extra that we are looking for - we cannot wait to host him in Phoenix.”
