The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

ONE TO WATCH: Max Kretzschmar

WITHOUT doubt, Woking’s biggest threat against Swindon Town will be from the left side of midfield as leading goalscorer Max Kretzschmar looks to add to his impressive goal tally already this season.

The versatile 25-year-old is comfortable playing either in the middle of the park or up front, granting manager Alan Dowson with plenty of options regarding his stance on what formation suits his men best.

It’s likely Dowson will side with Woking’s familiar 4-3-3 formation.

It applied, Kretzschmar can be expected to provide the Cards’ front three with regular opportunities to poach goals - and it’s something young right-back Kyle Knoyle will have to tackle.

A bye to the third round? Town fans can’t bank on it.

KEY BATTLE: Jermaine McGlashan v Ben Gerring

ASSISTANT manager Noel Hunt spoke at length last week about Swindon Town’s ambition to pose more of a threat down both wings.

Hunt made reference to the large volume of crosses being delivered by Town, but with little end product prior to his and new boss Richie Wellens’ arrival at SN1 three weeks ago.

On Tuesday against Stevenage, we perhaps saw the first green shoots of Town’s new philosophy - and Jermaine McGlashan will be put in charge of continuing that trend against non-league Woking.

Ben Gerring will be defending that threat on the right while it’s likely Keshi Anderson will be put in charge of duties on the opposite side of the pitch with Ian Gayle in his way.
