WE’RE in really good form at the moment with four wins from four in the league and it’s been built on a great defensive effort as we’ve had three shut-outs in that time.

Two of those have been in back-to-back home games. We love playing on our own rink.

We have got the ice pad we are used to, we train on it every week, and we have got the home crowd behind us as well – I don’t think people quite realise how the crowd influence our team and motivate us.

The supporters do a great job week in, week out. It is always packed at the Link Centre and that has a big effect on us.

With regards to the shut-outs, we have to give a lot of credit to our netminder, Renny Marr. He has been fantastic and made some unbelievable saves and turned games for us. He has really stood out in the last few matches.

Renny had three shut-outs in a row before we then won 4-3 at Bracknell Bees after that. To only conceded three goals in four games is a fantastic stat in ice hockey.

For someone so young and with so much room to develop, it is scary to think how good a goalie he will be in a few years’ time.

Last weekend was massive for us. To play Raiders and then Bracknell was a tough weekend and to get four points was a huge achievement for us.

They are two teams who I think are definitely going to be in the top half of the league this season, they have put great sides together.

Saturday was a bit more convincing than Sunday, that one was a bit more of a battle. But we have traditionally struggled at Bracknell’s rink, so we were delighted to get the win there and make it a four-point weekend and keep up that perfect record in the league.

Last weekend was the first time we have played two different teams and this weekend we go back to another double-header against Streatham.

We always take it a game at a time but it is a little bit easier to prepare as we only have to cover the information for one team.

Playing at home first is always good for us as it gives us a chance to build up some momentum.

We played Streatham twice in pre-season and they are a really good team – they have got some big players. We know they can be dangerous, so we have just got to stick to our game and our systems and make sure we do our jobs on the ice.

Of course, we can take some stuff from the pre-season games, such as who the dangermen are we need to look out for, but now there are league points riding on it, it is a lot different to a friendly game.

It is all or nothing now and if we don’t get the wins we want early on it can cost us down the line, so we want to keep this ball rolling and keep our winning streak going.
