The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

ONE TO WATCH: Danny Rose

DANNY Rose was rumoured to be moving away from Field Mill during the summer after being linked with League One club Peterborough.

However, the 24-year-old striker withdrew his transfer request to the club earlier this week with Stags boss David Flitcroft confirming support from the club’s fans helped persuade the talented youngster to stay.

Now with a focus on the season ahead, Rose will no doubt present Swindon Town’s back three - or four - with problems.

Rose hasn’t been a regular under Flitcroft this season, but an appearance lasting more than 80 minutes against his former club Bury would’ve been an ideal warm-up for tomorrow’s game.

With five goals in six appearances, Rose will present Town’s defence with issues.

KEY BATTLE: Elijah Adebayo v Matt Preston

SWINDON Town’s inability to finish the key chances presented to them last weekend could grant loanee Elijah Adebayo a chance to stake his claim for a regular spot in the starting XI again.

Adebayo was dropped to the bench by Phil Brown last Saturday as Scott Twine featured instead during the club’s 2-0 loss at St James’ Park against Exeter City.

The Fulham loan signing has failed to hit top gear this season, and former Town man Matt Preston will be keen to continue that trend when Mansfield Town visit Wiltshire.

Preston has been a regular for the Stags and part of a back five that have conceded only nine goals in their first 11 league fixtures.
