COLERNE rider Laura Henton returned from the Nettex British Dressage National Veteran Championships in Leicestershire having lifted the national title at medium level for horses over 20 with The Fieldmaster.

Mum of one Henton, 33, has partnered the 25 year old bay gelding for 21 years and started riding him aged 12.

Former members of the Avon Vale Pony Club, they previously competed at International level in eventing, representing Great Britain at the Junior European Championships.

Meanwhile, Reybridge's David Doel competed individually as Great Britain won the FEI Nations Cup Eventing series at the final leg in Boekelo, the Netherlands.

While Britain's four-strong team of Laura Collett, Alexander Bragg, Pippa Funnell and Izzy Taylor guided the country to glory, Doel was 33rd and 38th on Eisfee and Shannondale Quest respectively.

Doel had previously taken two wins, a third and sixth place in the novice competition at Calmsden the previous weekend.

His first win of the weekend was on Granito DHI finishing double clear with a dressage score of 27.5. He followed this up with a win on Man about Town again double clear on a score of 29.8.

His other two rides Reybridge River Danz, a home bred horse came in third place, and Royal Crusade II came 6th.
