SHREWTON United remained top of the Premier Division table despite slipping to their second defeat of the season on Friday night.

United came unstuck at Melksham Town Reserves, whose 4-3 triumph moved them up to two points behind the leaders in third place.

Shrewton took the lead through Craig Lewis' penalty and the infiLED Arena but Melksham, who finished as league runners up last season, drew level through an own goal.

The home side then seized control as Jamal Chevolleau's brace and Gary Higdon netted.

Shrewton fought back with a second for Lewis and Tyren Harrington also on target, but they came up just short.

Champions Kintbury Rangers were back on winning form, despite being pushed all the way by Trowbridge Town, who took the lead through goals from Joshua Hard and Alex Pippard.

Kintbury though hit back in the second half as Shaun Thorpe netted twice and Kye Williams the other to secure their fifth win in six matches.

Cricklade Town clinched a third win in a row as they edged out Marlborough Town 3-1.

Devan Bryan and Tom McCulloch's double did the damage for the home side, while Elliott Smith replied for Marlborough.

Stanley Park side Football ID were beaten 4-2 at home by Ludgershall Sports, Kiefer Roper firing in a hat-trick for the winners.

Barry Forster was also on target, while Kyle Pogie-Elms registered both for the home side.

Westbury United Reserves bagged a third win of the campaign as they wrapped up a 3-1 win against bottom side Malmesvury Victoria Development.

Rhys Talmash netted twice for United, with Nathan Flower also on target, while Elliott Drage found the net for Vics.

Purton emerged with three points from their trip to Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development after a 2-1 triumph.

Gianluca Costabile and Andrew Bilko netted for Purton, with Jamie Richards on target for Bassett.

Devizes Town Reserves' failure to raise a team saw their clash with Wroughton postponed.
