SWINDON Wildcats scored two unanswered goals in the final period to claim their first away victory of the 2018-19 season at Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday night.
Aaron Nell’s side trailed 3-2 in their latest Autumn Trophy group stage match but late strikes from Floyd Taylor and Jan Kostal saw them turn it around to take a 4-3 win in Yorkshire.
Swindon fell behind inside the opening minute of the contest when Ben Morgan hit the back of the net for the Steeldogs, however, goals from Max Birbraer and Edgars Bebris meant the visitors led 2-1 at the end of the first period.
Sheffield had the better of period two as a brace from Milan Kolena saw them take the initiative but the Cats were able to put together a grandstand finish in the final session to snatch victory.
The two teams resume battle tonight in the return fixture at the Link Centre (face-off 4pm).
