TOMMY Bridewell delivered his best results since returning to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship as he stood on the podium twice at Oulton Park at the weekend.

The Etchilhampton rider, who linked up with the MotoRapido Ducati squad earlier this summer after his sudden exit from Halsall Racing, finished second and third in the weekend's two races

Bridewell pushed all the way as Jake Dixon claimed the opening victory before adding a third place in the second race and said: "I had confidence in the team and myself and we had pace in the wet and in the dry.

"It’s lovely to back it up in both conditions. Race one, after Jake got away, I could just relax a bit, but in the second race I had to dig deep, really deep for it.

"But the bike was working absolutely spot on, Jake and Leon (Haslam) have just got a bit more momentum than me at the minute and there’s more at stake for them, so they have to ride a bit harder.”

“I’m not making any excuses but there’s still a little bit of me that’s still understanding the Ducati towards the end of the race so we’re still learning.

"But we’re top Ducati yet again and it just goes to show that with the right team, just what I can do.''
