WROUGHTON emphatically destroyed the Wiltshire Senior League Premier Division's remaining 100 per cent record as they thrashed reigning champions Kintbury Rangers 5-1 on Saturday.

Shane Hibbert's early penalty sent the villagers on their way and Tyler Wilkinson scored twice for Wroughton, either side of Shaun Thorp's reply for Rangers.

Second-half goals from Tom Price and Kyle Parker maintained Wroughton's unbeaten record a point behind early pacesetters Shrewton United, who stayed top of the pile with a 6-2 home success against Corsham Town Reserves.

Tyren Harrington scored twice to give United control but Corsham bravely battled back as Adam Mitchell and Emilio Mudrak restored parity.

Dominic Jackson notched a third for Shrewton before half-time and both Harrington and Jackson added further goals after the break as Jesse Walters wrapped up the triumph.

Third-placed Melksham Town Reserves saw their progress stalled as Ludgershall Sports eked out a 1-0 win to end their own three-match winless run, a last-minute goal from David Cotter settling matters.

Football ID spurned a two-goal lead in their final stages against Westbury United Reserves as they stayed in fifth spot after a 3-3 draw.

Ethan Gilson-Clarke, Edidiong Essien and Tiger Harris netted for the Stanley Park-based outfit, but George Bendle and a Matthew Mead double ensured the spoils were shared.

Trowbridge Town continued their promising start as they wrapped up a 2-1 home win over Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development.

Ben Howlett and Daniel Sandford were on target for the Bees, turning the result around after Josh Bolton had sent Bassett into half-time in front.

Purton won for the second time this season as they edged out Marlborough Town 3-2.

William Backhouse's double and Nathan Marland had Purton 3-1 ahead at the interval, Aaron Presley and Jordan Ball with Marlborough's replies.

A shortage of match officials due to the number of FA Vase matches in the county led to the postponement of Malmesbury Victoria Development's visit to Cricklade Town.
