WILTSHIRE moved closer to a third successive Unicorns Championship Western Division victory by setting Oxfordshire a daunting target to win at Marlborough CC yesterday.
Left arm seamer Tahir Afridi returned his best Minor Counties figures in five years to put Wiltshire in control of the contest as the visitors were dismissed for just 129 in reply to Wiltshire's opening 211 in their first innings
No Oxfordshire batsman reached 30 as Afridi took 6-47 to hand the home side a first-innings lead of 82.
Wiltshire then built upon that advantage, reaching 231 all out in their second innings, debutant opener Dave Bromley hitting 43 as Oxfordshire were set 314 to win, with the final day set to get under way at 11am this morning.
