DAVID Howell delivered more evidence of a return to form as he posted his best round of the week on the final day of the Czech Masters near Prague.

Howell, who had signed for a level-par round of 72 on Saturday after making his second successive cut since returning from a four-week break earlier this month, carded a flawless final round at the Albatross Golf Resort to finish inside the top 40 in the event.

The two-time Ryder Cup winner from Swindon posted birdies at the fifth, 11th, 13th and 16th to round off his week in pleasing fashion.

Finishing on the same overall score of eight under par was fellow Wiltshire player Jordan Smith.

The Derry Hill player posted a five-birdie 68 on Saturday to move to the fringes of contention in the event, but was unable to capitalise in the final round, carding a one-over-par 73.

Both Howell and Smith are poised to play in next week’s Made In Denmark event in Aarhus, along with Laurie Canter, from the Cumberwell Park club near Bradford on Avon.
