ONE TO WATCH: Christian Doidge

CONCEDING 10 goals in your opening three competitive fixtures is never ideal, but that’s the position that Swindon Town currently find themselves in.

And star Forest Green Rovers striker Christian Doidge could inflict more damage tonight if allowed the time and space that Town gifted Lincoln on Saturday afternoon.

Doidge, a tall and prolific player on the pitch, scored a massive 40 goals for the Nailsworth-based side in 73 appearances last season.

There’s little doubt that Rovers boss Mark Cooper will be looking to exploit Town’s weakest link - their defence - at the County Ground and make full use of the big spaces available.

Doidge’s performance will play a key part in the end result.

KEY BATTLE: Elijah Adebayo v Farrend Rawson

PRESUMING Elijah Adebayo starts tonight, the key battle on the pitch will be between Town’s new forward and Forest Green central defender Farrend Rawson.

Of League One quality having appeared for Coventry City in the first division two seasons ago, Rawson’s rugged defensive performances come from time spent with high-profile clubs including Derby County and last season’s League Two champions Accrington Stanley.

We’re yet to see Adebayo net in a competitive fixture, but the 20-year-old has been a lurking presence in front of goal and will no doubt fire a successful trigger sooner than later.
