DEVIZES Canoe Club toasted multiple success at the National Marathon Championships in Reading last weekend.

The Devizes club went on to finish the 16th overall in the event, the top-ranked club in the south west region.

There were golds for Beatrix Fooks in the U12 K2 and Daisie and Mollie Ball in the U10 K2 and U12 K2 respectively.

Fooks and Daisie Ball also claimed silvers in the U12 K1 and U10 K1.

Elsewhere, Dan Jones was 17th in the U18 K1, Reeve Stevens placing 21st and Flossie Ball was fourth in the U16 K1.

Juliet Fooks was fifth and Mark Ball placed 19th in the Over 44 K1, with Nigel Chivers 24th in the Over 49 K1 and Jill Priday seventh in the Over 59 K1.

In the senior men's K2, Steve Bush and Mark Ball was seventh, while Jones and Stevens were 10th in the U18 K2

Algernon Fooks finished 12th in the U16 K2, with Mollie Ball second in the U14 K2 and Kevin Crabb and Steve New 20th in the Over 44 K2.

William and Octavius Fooks were ninth in the Senior C2 and Flossie Ball and Edd Dobson 23rd in the Mixed K2.

Ali Little and Mollie Ball placed 41st in the Mixed K2, with Steve Bush and Jenny Clegg 52nd, Juliet Fooks and Peter Clarke 54th, Nigel Chivers and Jenny Jones 69th and Sarah Cooke and Mark Ball 71st.

Meanwhile, Devizes' Jodie Ball, Alex Sheppy and Spencer Armstrong will represent Great Britain in the European Junior and U23 Championships in Skopje, Macedonia, at the end of next week.
