MALMESBURY youngster Louis Harvey was left disappointed after a mechanical problem halted his progress in the fifth round of the British SuperOne series at Shenington Kart Club.

Harvey came away with a heat win in the opening race as well as a second place in heat two before a kart issue saw him break down in the final race.

The Wiltshire driver took on a field of 28 and was testing his new Klaassen Motorsport ARC Shadow works chassis.

Practice day went well for Harvey as he fine-tuned his set up, as he went from 13th on the grid to win heat one.

Moving from an eighth place start up to fourth, he further improved to second in the next race.

In heat three, he was quickly up to eighth, but an incident caused his kart to get hooked up with another driver and put him on the grass in last place, eventually finishing 23rd.

Qualifying fourth for the final race, Harvey’s kart failed to gain pace on the rolling lap and despite his best efforts could not get the engine to kick into life dropping him back down the field, eventually refusing to start.
