BRADFORD Town gave their promotion bid a huge boost with a 3-1 win over second-placed Willand Rovers in the Toolstation League Premier Division on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, Bradford took the lead in fine style five minutes after the break as Will Hailston's run across the box ended with him shooting into the far corner.
Bradford doubled their lead when Matt Morris was felled inside the area and got up to fire home the resulting penalty.
In the final moments, Karim Rendall ran through to power in the third before Willand's Ryan Guppy scored from a rebound after Charlie Phillips had saved a penalty in the game's final action.
FA Vase quarter-finalists Melksham Town were ousted from the Les Phillips Cup as they lost 2-1 at Brislington.
Tyler Sibbick gave a much-changed Melksham side the lead three minutes before half-time but Neikell Plummer equalised two minutes into the second half.
Plummer's second on 71 minutes sealed Brislington's triumph.
In the First Division, leaders Westbury United romped to a 5-1 win at Bristol Telephones, Dan Kovacs notching twice and Ricky Hulbert, Steve Hulbert and Jamie Jordan also scoring.
Corsham Town were beaten 2-1 at Almondsbury, Adam Mitchell netting for the Wiltshire men, while Calne Town lost 4-1 at home to Welton Rovers, Harry Myles scoring for the hosts.
