A HOST of Manchester United legends will return to Wiltshire this week when they again take to the field at Melksham Town’s Oakfields Stadium.

The Red Devils helped officially open the club’s new ground last October, with Champions League winner David May headlining a team of former United favourites in a match against a Melksham Select XI.

More than 2,000 supporters turned out that day to see the retired ex-pros in action and football fans across the county will get the chance to do so again on Sunday when another game featuring a team of United legends takes place against a Select XI managed by Melksham chairman Darren Perrin.

The match gets under way at 2pm, with advanced tickets costing £9 for adult members, £6 OAPs and £4 for children under 16. Non-members advanced tickets are charged at £10 for adults, £7 OAPs and £5 for under 16s.

Tickets will also be available on the day, priced £12 for adults, £9 OAPs and £7 under 16s. Children under the age of four will be admitted free of charge.

The club have also announced that the game will be supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust, with 25 per cent of profits being donated to the charity.

To help raise funds, an auction of sporting memorabilia will take place on Saturday evening as well as on the day of the game.

Items up for auction include signed Chelsea, Southampton, AFC Bournemouth and Bristol City shirts, as well as a match-worn Manchester City shirt signed by England defender Kyle Walker.

A pair of tickets to attend one of the Teenage Cancer Trust’s annual special events at the Royal Albert Hall next March are also up for grabs.
