WILTSHIRE eventer Kitty King has been named as one of four Great Britain riders for next month's Olympic Games in Rio.
King and horse Ceylor LAN were named by the British Olympic Association at a press conference at her Lower Stanton St Quintin stables this morning.
Showjumper Jessica Mendoza, from Tockenham near Calne, who now bases herself in The Netherlands, has been named as a travelling reserve for the four-strong showjumping team for Rio.
Debutant King, 33, meanwhile joins three-time Olympic medallist William Fox-Pitt, with Chilli Morning, Izzy Taylor on Allercombe Ellie and Gemma Tattersall, on Chico Bella P or Quicklook V, on the eventing team.
King finished fourth and was leading British rider at last September's European Championships in Scotland, missing out on a bronze medal by just 0.1 of a penalty, while a prodigious strike-rate with 11-year-old Persimmon and nine-year-old Ceylor LAN has delivered 34 career wins between them.
