A SECOND Devizes Budo Club player has been accepted on to the England pre-cadet squad in the space of six months.
Twelve year old Benjamin Mersini, from Trowbridge, who has been training at the club for the last three years, has secured medals at major national competitions all over Britain such as the British National Schools in Sheffield, Scottish Sportif in Edinburgh, North West Open in Blackburn and the Western Area Open in Weston Super Mare.
He has also recently won a bronze medal in a competition in Belgium.
Mersini is coached by Mark Burbidge and Jason Parsons, both of whom are professional coaches and who picked up a top coaching award from the British Judo Association.
Meanwhile Devizes Budo Club have been running a beginners sessions for adults and young people aged 13 years and above over the past nine months.
Adults who want to try the sport should attend the Dunkirk Hill club on a Wednesday night from 7-9 pm.
